On 18 April 2013 at 7pm, a Guitar-Soirée "Women and Guitar" will take place in the headquarters of Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz, one of the major sponsors of the Koblenz International Guitar Festival.
The artists include: the siblings Nikita and Nasstja Müller (Wiesbaden), Bahar Türker (Turkey), Theresia and Katharina Weimer (Essen) and Sabrina Vlascalic (Serbia).
There will also be a presentation of this year's Koblenz International Guitar Festival programme to the media and the public.
As of 1 September 2013 Prof. Costas Cotsiolis (Greece) and Prof. Alexander S. Ramirez (Germany/Peru) will join the teaching staff of the Koblenz International Guitar Academy.

The RESULTS of the Koblenz International Guitar Competition 'Hubert Käppel' held at the Kurfürstliches Schloß on Sunday 27 May 2012.
The First Prize was not awarded.
The Second Prize to Chia-Wei Lin (Taiwan).
The Third Prize to Anton Baranov (Russia).
The Premio Joaquín Rodrigo for the best interpretation of a work by Joaquín Rodrigo was awarded to Giuseppe Zinchiri (Italy).
The six Finalists were:

Ali Arango (Cuba),
Kunhwa Lee (Korea),
Giuseppe Zinchiri (Italy),
Chia-Wei Lin (Taiwan),
Anton Baranov (Russia).
The jury members were: Univ.-Prof. Konrad Ragossnig – President of the Jury, Prof. Dale Kavanagh, Prof. Alfred Eickholt, Prof. Lucio Matarazzo, Prof. Robert Brightmore, Prof. Alexander S. Ramirez, Prof. Gerhard Reichbach, Thérèse Wassily Saba, Prof. Judicaël Perroy, Max Op den Kamp, Prof. Ansgar Krause, Tobias Kassung, Günter S. Schillings, Russell Poyner, and in the Final Round only: Prof. Hubert Käppel and Georg Schmitz.
